·       make a regular commitment to two 4 hour shifts each month?

The recruitment process involves an interview and two days’ mandatory training.

In addition, we will require two references. There is an induction session at Edinburgh Sheriff Court and all volunteer listeners have a three month probation period.

All volunteer listeners need to have membership of the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme which is managed by Disclosure Scotland. Applications are submitted on behalf of volunteer listeners by The Listening Service Edinburgh and are free of charge
